WHMCS provides their official online tool to check the license status of connected domains.

Follow these steps to use it:​

1. Visit the License Verification page. Open the WHMCS website and go to the WHMCS License Verification Tool.
2. Enter your WHMCS domain in the tool form, type the domain name where WHMCS is installed, if WHMCS is active at billing.example.com/index.php , then you need to type billing.example.com. Only enter the main domain name.
3. Submit and after a min (depend on your internet connection) check the result. The tool will display if the domain is authorized. If the license is valid for that domain, you will see a confirmation message and if not, you’ll see an “unauthorized” message. But If your license is valid and it still shows as unauthorized, try clearing WHMCS cache or refreshing the page and make sure the domain you're checking matches the one registered on your license.

This tool is the official way to confirm if your domain is valid to run WHMCS. It shows clearly whether the domain is listed on the license.

How to Check License Status in WHMCS Admin​

You can also verify the license your WHMCS installation from the admin dashboard:

• Log in to the WHMCS admin. Open the WHMCS admin dashboard usually at billing.example.com/admin .
• Open License Information and click on the help menu (and choose License
• Information. This page shows you the current details of your license, including the license key, type, and the domains.
• Test server connection to the WHMCS licensing server. On the License Information page, click on Force License Update to re-verify the license with WHMCS. This validates WHMCS connecting the license server and updates the status.
• The License Information page in the admin dashboard is the most easy way to see if your license is updated. If the domain is not listed or the license has expired, it will be indicated there.
