Hello! Whether you are operating a Hosting Service or simply like to experiment with different tools that have an open-source place among the community, you should enjoy this new release of 1.4.0 of Paymenter with new and exciting features. I have used it, and all I am saying is it is a significant upgrade to client and billing management.
• Billing Agreements: Customers may now save credit cards; customers can pay automatically via Stripe or PayPal! No more overdue email notices for invoicing.
• Lock invoices: Once an invoice is created there is no way to change customer information. Locking invoices is a nice feature for user experience and professionalism in the invoicing system, and it will also keep your records cleaner!
• Proforma invoices: You can now designate an invoice as a Proforma. This is nice for when you want to send someone a quote, or just a notice on pre-listed billing.
• Notification Center: Customers will now be able to see notifications in the dashboard and also select the types of notifications they would like.
• WHMCS Importer: If you are moving from WHMCS, you can now move your clients and products.
• UI Improvements: Though minor, the changes to the homepage and footer look improved and enhance the whole system feeling more polished.
Billing models simplify the process for everyone. Clients don't have to go into their accounts to the invoice area to pay for services once a month, which will prevent the need for reminder e-mails to clients. I have had services set up without auto-billing options before, and let me tell you, it is simply a hassle! It is a total win-win situation.
Basic WHMCS Transfer
If you've become tired of WHMCS or just want to use something open-source, the recent importer will save you multiple tens of hours of manual effort. You will efficiently and simply migrate your legacy data (as long as it's not in Excel) with little concern for exports and spreadsheets.
More Control and Accuracy
The rule against editing invoices is good for your overall consistency and reliability of your billing practices. It is particularly nice for hosting providers if you are eventually audited or if your customers really inspect their invoices closely.

A Few Notes Prior To Upgrading
- Make sure you check everything prior to the upgrade, in particular your payment processor and plugins.
- If you are migrating from WHMCS, be sure to check your service settings and tax.
- Ensure auto-billing is functioning with your client’s payment methods.
