What Provides Me With Hope for the Future​

Although we're still not there yet, I know I'm excited about where we're headed. There was a time when I tested a VR system that was powered by edge computing, and it was such a smooth experience that I thought, "Wow! This is going to be a reality someday!"

There are a number of developments that are going to increase the power of hosting for the Metaverse:

• Emerging 5G and 6G networks
• Increasing numbers of edge data centers
• Emerging technologies for better compression of graphics and data
• AI tools for offloading processing from servers

As these improvements are realized, the Metaverse will begin to feel and behave like a "real world."
