Namecheap 0.88C domains - wonder how expensive they will be in a year's time?

I know that namecheap offers cheaper renewals than godaddy. They charge about 10$ for renewal of a .com. The 1$ domains offered by namecheap and godaddy are just to roll in as many customers as possible.
