Hello! I was just told that NAKIVO has released the newest version of Backup & Replication, and it is now at v11.1. There are many great enhancements in this version for disaster recovery and cloud users. If you have a vested interest in protecting your data and maintaining seamless operations you should want to be kept in the loop about this upcoming update.

Let’s take a look at some of the new enhancements that will take this product to the next level.

1. Multilingual Interface - NAKIVO officially supports multiple languages like French, Italian, German, Polish, Chinese among others and of course English and Spanish. This means, teams around the world are able to use the product in their own language. I believe this enhances their product tremendously - very appealing for their audience.

2. Better Support for Proxmox VE - Enhancements for NAKIVO's support for Proxmox VE environments. Now your software includes:
  • Flash VM Boot, allowing you to boot a VM immediately from a backup.
  • VM Replication and Template Backup, enabling you to easily copy or recover your environments and systems.
  • Automatic Backup Tests that will send you reports and screenshots so you can see everything worked as expected.
  • You can even now perform direct recovery from tape.
Have you ever had a VM crash and waited for hours to recover it? This feature could save your career.

3. Real-time Replication for VMware - The update adds real-time VMware VM replication, meaning the copies of your VMs stay up to date.

It also adds automatic failover, which takes over automatically if a product fails.

It’s a useful feature for those companies that cannot afford any downtime — everything works for them!

Partial Backups for Physical Machines

  • You can now do a backup of just the folders or drives you want instead of backing up an entire system.
  • This works for Windows and Linux machines.
  • You can restore to a shared folder, through your browser, or even via email.
  • There are times when just one folder is damaged, that would have saved me so much time!

MSP Direct Connect

  • For the MSPs out there this is gold!
  • With the new can connect to client systems without an open port on the client side.
  • Everything is fully encrypted and supports VMware, Hyper -V, Proxmox and the client with a physical machine.
  • This makes the setup quicker, safer and less headache inducing.

Personal Impressions

To be candid, I am truly fond of the direction that NAKIVO is taking with this release. These changes are not simply cosmetic improvements, they are taking aim at genuine pain points: recovery times that take too long, too much time spent installing, setting up, and not enough functionality for MSPs to restore securely and access flexibility in servers for failover.

As someone that has managed a backup system of some form, there are three things that matter most: speed, simplicity, and reliability. NAKIVO v11.1 has all three!

Overview / Wrap Up

If you manage backups, DR, or have MSP clients, you should take a look at NAKIVO v11.1. Features like the multilingual interface, improvements to Proxmox and Vmware, partial backups, and secure consistency for MSP work are things you should appreciate in this update.
