Is microLXC the Future of VPS Hosting? What the Public Test Results Show

As you all are aware that most VPS hosting configurations are fine but not necessarily that thrilling. You have some other virtual machine, and it is fine, but it boots slowly and has too much overhead. MicroLXC is where it comes in.

It's a lean, new technology which is all the rage. And if you've seen the public test results, you can't help but think to yourself: Is this the next big thing?

Well, lads I am going to tell you about what I discovered. I even tested microLXC myself and was amazed.

What Is Exactly microLXC​

microLXC employs something called Linux Containers (LXC). It is a virtual machine, but faster and lighter. Now you would ask, why is this so great? The reasons are listed below:

• It loads really fast – in just seconds.
• It requires less memory and CPU – so you can have more stuff on the same server.
• Secure as Docker, but not as bloated as full VMs.

When I first employed it and I was wondering, why didn't I know about this sooner?

Output Of The Public Tests​

Users ran microLXC with maximum load—more traffic, CPU stress, file activity. And what was the outcome?

• Memory was solid, even under stress.
• CPU performance wasn't affected, even under long tasks.
• The network speed was vastly fast – sometimes even more than usual VPS.

One user was able to run 60 microLXC containers off of a single core. That's insane and fantastic!

Is It Worth Making Use Of microLXC Now?​

Come on—microLXC is not perfect. It's a bit picky to install and not all control panels do support it as of yet. But if you enjoy messing around with tech and don't mind taking a minute or two? This is something that you should try.

Here are the reason I liked it:

• It is quick to deploy.
• It is friendly to server resources.
• The entire experience is snappy.

Is microLXC the Future?​

Not quite yet for all, but it's certainly headed in the right direction.
