The fact is that passwords can be a hassle. Every time I get asked to create yet another password with special characters, numbers and capitals, I want to scream! And trying to keep track of them all is just as bad! I know that you feel the same way. So, the big question is, can passwordless authentication finally remove passwords forever?
Let's have an informal conversation about this.
Enhanced security — Since there are no passwords for a hacker to get to, there is no way for them to steal them.
Quicker access — Since there are no longer any passwords to type or reset.
Reduced chance of being hacked — Most of the time hackers use password lists of weak and reused passwords (ex: 123456, password, etc.) and people are still doing this!
Less anxiety — You no longer have to keep track of dozens of pieces of paper with password information, can just use the passwordless method.
Sounds good, huh?
Change is slow and companies have a high fear of change. Not all devices support this. There are still some devices (especially older ones) that do not have fingerprint or facial recognition capabilities.
Additionally, some consumers feel they cannot trust a passwordless login because they may not have access to anything if their mobile device or computer becomes lost, stolen or damaged.
A buddy of mine stated, "What if my digit has a cut on it and I can't use the fingerprint log-in?"
While that may be true - nobody is suggesting that passwords will all disappear overnight. For a few years yet, we'll continue to see the use of both types of log-ins (passwordless vs. passwords).
Eventually, however - I believe we'll no longer use passwords or the need to have multiple passwords for multiple log-ins - and I couldn't be happier about it!
With passwordless authentication, the user has added security advantages - and it creates a more fluid process.
So - What do you think? Are you ready to live in a world without passwords?
Let's have an informal conversation about this.
What Is Passwordless Authentication?
With Passwordless Authentication, you will be able to log into a site without the need to enter a password. Instead of entering a password, you will be using one of the following methods:- Your fingerprints or face ID

Eventually, however - I believe we'll no longer use passwords or the need to have multiple passwords for multiple log-ins - and I couldn't be happier about it!
Conclusion
Passwords were great while they were useful, but now they are a source of stress and pose security risks to individuals and businesses alike. With passwordless authentication, the user has added security advantages - and it creates a more fluid process.
