Attention, former AT&T Customers who have provided AT&T with their personal information — as per the terms of the AT&T Data Breach Settlement, all claim forms must be submitted before December 18, 2025.

What Happened

In 2024, AT&T disclosed that they had suffered from two major data breaches. The first breach revealed customers' personal information (such as name, Social Security number, date of birth, address, and billing information). The second breach involved the leakage of customers' phone and text messages, and records in the cloud.

Due to this, AT&T agreed to make compensation payments as part of their settlement for those impacted by the breaches.

Who Is Eligible, and How Much

If AT&T had your personal information when they were hacked, you could be eligible for compensation.

The First Hack: For those who were affected by the first hacking incident. You could qualify for as much as $5,000—especially if you experienced monetary loss. If you are unable to show proof of losses due to identity theft or accrued debt, you may apply for a lower amount.

The Second Hack: For those who were affected by the second hacking incident. You could receive as much as $2,500 if you can prove your losses.

For those of you affected by both hacking incidents, you may apply for up to $7,500 total from AT&T's class-action settlement.

How To Apply - Very Simple

You can apply online by completing a claim form at the official Settlement website operated by a 3rd party vendor. The notification you received may have provided you with a "Class Member ID" that will make the process easier.

If you don’t have that number, you can still apply by entering your name, email address, or your prior AT&T account number.

Deadline To Submit An Application: December 18, 2025.

Should I Submit A Claim? (In My Opinion)

If I were in your position, and had utilized AT&T at one time or another, then I would suggest filing a claim. The process takes very little time to complete. If you do not believe you lost any money, it is still possible to receive a minimal amount. Also, if you do not submit your claim, you could lose the chance to receive compensation.

To Summarize — Here Is What You Should Do Now

  • Determine whether you have previously used AT&T.
  • Go to the Settlement Website, or download and complete the claim form.
  • Complete the Claim Form, and submit without delay — either electronically or through traditional mail.
  • Complete this prior to December 18, 2025.
  • You can receive a maximum of $7,500, based on the information you provide on your claim form.
