Hello! If you were ever an
AT&T customer from 2019-2024, you may have some cash coming your way! That's right,
AT&T is expected to provide a
$177 million settlement for two data breaches and you may be eligible to get up to
$7,500. Let's circle back.
What happened?
Two major
occurred at AT&T in March and July data breaches of 2024. The first breach revealed sensitive personal information about nearly
73 million (73,000,000) customers, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and account level information. The second breach revealed call and text message records for nearly all of AT&Ts customers for the time period between
May 2022 and
October 2022. Although the second breach did not include any content of text messages, or personal identifiers like Social Security numbers, the revelations concerning an individual's text messages and calls are concerning.
How Much Can You Get?
Depending on which breach affected you - and how much documentation you have - you may be entitled to:
- Up to $5,000 for documented losses relating to the March 2024 breach.
- Up to $2,500 for documented losses relating to the July 2024 breach.
- Up to $7,500 if you were impacted by both breaches, provided you have documentations that are separate.
Even if you don't have documentation, you may still qualify for a smaller payment based on tiered cash payments. The exact amount would be contingent on how many valid claims are submitted and the number of settlement funds available after administrative costs and attorney fees.
Key Dates
- Claim Deadline - November 18, 2025
- Opt-Out or Objection Deadline - October 17, 2025
- Final Approval Hearing - December 3, 2025
Make a point of writing these dates down so you don't lose your opportunity to claim your share of the settlement.
Claim Procedure
The claim process is simple:
1. Visit the official settlement website. Go to
telecomdatasettlement.com.
2. Provide your information. You will need your
Class Member ID, which has been sent to you via email from
attsettlement@e.emailksa.com. If you cannot find your Class Member ID, check your spam folder or contact the settlement administrator.
3. Provide documentation if applicable by collecting any documents that support the fraud alerts, identity theft reports, or receipts for credit monitoring services you are claiming.
4. File your claim either online, or mail (or fax) your completed claim form to the address on telephone settlement website.
Why You Should Pay Attention
Regardless of whether you consider yourself a
victim of the data breach, it is worth checking. There were a substantial number of affected customers for this breach, and the settlement makes the process of obtaining restitution for harm caused by it simple enough should you also fall victim. The process for claiming damages is straightforward, and you could conceivably receive a substantial payout.
